Description
A hollowed-out asteroid station that serves as the system’s only viable trade hub. Overcrowded and chaotic due to the current gem rush, the station is rife with claim jumpers and desperate miners. The Miners Guild maintains tenuous control.
Key Areas
| Point of Interest | Description |
|---|---|
| UPN Office | A small, one-room policing office established to be a point of contact to the Miners Guild |
| Lucido Miners Guild Headquarters | A large, rundown converted office to manage mining claims, crew assignments, and freelancer contracts. The line just to see a claim manager is hours long. |
| The Pulsing Phaser | The local bar. Packed 24/7 with off-duty miners, spacers, and claim jumpers. The air is thick with smoke and rumors. A good place to find work or a knife in the back. |
| Isabel’s Workshop | Workshop of the local crack mechanic, specialized on mining equipment but can work on practically everything |
| The Exchange | A chaotic, open concourse where miners sell raw gems directly to merchants, Guild assayers, and shady buyers. Rife with pickpockets, con artists, and desperate brawls. It also holds a lot of other shops where equipment and other utilities can be bought for a price. |
| Docking Bay 7 (Cargo) | Ostensibly a Guild-controlled cargo bay, but it’s an open secret that the dock supervisor, Artem Rieman, looks the other way for the right price. The primary hub for smuggling. |
Important Figures
| Name | Role | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Zara Jackson | Head of the Lucido Miner’s Guild | A tough-as-nails pragmatist trying to keep the station from imploding |
| Eike Müller | Mining Claim Manager | A perpetually stressed Guild bureaucrat drowning in digital paperwork. He is the gatekeeper to potential wealth, making him a prime target for bribes and threats. |
| Lt. Mitchel Jackson | Local UPN Liason | Husband of Zara Jackson. He’s a by-the-book UPN officer, trapped between his duty to the UPoS and his wife’s messy political reality. His one-room office is his prison. |
| Frederike Bannink | Propriator of the Pulsing Phaser | An ex-marine heavy-worlder who retired to the station. She keeps a combat shotgun under the bar and enforces a strict “No Blasters” policy. She sells drinks and buys secrets. |
| Isabel Workhel | Unrecognized mechanic prodigy | A brilliant, grease-stained engineer who keeps most of the ships docked at the station running on her own, some requests are handled by her three younger brothers. |
| Artem Rieman | OEG Agent | Logistics Consultant for a mining conglomerate. He’s a deep-cover OEG agent tasked with infiltrating the Guild, fomenting unrest, and skimming profits. |
| Lennart Ziehm | Dock Worker | Supervisor for Docking Bay 7. He sees everything that comes and goes. A key informant who knows which crates “fell off” the manifest, on Artem Riemann’s payroll. |
Culture and Social Structure
| Culture Traits | Description |
|---|---|
| Prospector’s Fever | A restless, paranoid energy. Everyone suspects everyone else of claim jumping or holding out on a big score. Trust is in short supply. |
| Oxygen Anxiety | Life support is expensive and often rationed by the Guild. Locals constantly check air seals and displays; a common nervous tic. |
| Social Hierarchy | Corporatocracy (Wealth & Debt) - Status is determined by the size of your registered claim or the depth of your debt to the Guild store. |
|---|---|
| Languages | Common |
Local Economy and Trade
| Sector | Description |
|---|---|
| Primary Industries | Raw Gem Mining, Equipment Repair, Vice & Services (bars, gambling). |

Law and Order
| Attribute | Description |
|---|---|
| Governing Body | Lucido Miners Guild. (De jure UPoS territory, de facto Guild control). |
| Primary Laws | The Guild Charter: All claims must be registered. No discharging weapons in pressurized zones. Theft of claims is punished by spacing. |
| Enforcement | Guild Security Force: Overworked, underpaid, and notoriously brutal. The UPN office only observes and reports unless a UPoS citizen is directly threatened. |
Factions
| Faction | Goals | Influence (1 - 5) |
|---|---|---|
| Lucido Miners Guild | Maximize gem extraction quotas and suppress independent “wildcat” unions. | 4 |
| Unified Planets Navy | Prevent the gem rush from escalating into system-wide civil conflict; maintain sovereign facade. | 3 |
| One Earth Government | Destabilize the Guild to force UPoS withdrawal and acquire the Leerenstein for weapons research. | 2 |
Recent Events
The “Leerenstein” Incident: A prospecting crew recently brought in a flawless, fist-sized black gem dubbed the “Leerenstein”. The crew was murdered in “The Pulsing Phaser” hours later. The gem is missing, and Guild Security has begun violent, station-wide shakedowns. Artem Rieman (OEG) is rumored to have been the buyer.
Adventure Hooks
- Zara Jackson (Guild Head) hires the PCs to quietly find the missing “Leerenstein” gem before the station tears itself apart. She suspects a rival, but Lt. Jackson (UPN) suspects OEG involvement and wants the PCs to bring him evidence.
- Artem Rieman (Dock Worker) approaches the PCs, terrified. He has proof (a datapad) that Lennart Ziehm is smuggling military-grade weapons to claim-jumper gangs. He wants the PCs to get him and his family off-station in exchange for the evidence.
