Special Features
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Cirani Star-Charts | An analog, hand-drawn navigational overlay used by the Captain. It marks safe passages through the Lucido Belt that do not appear on standard UPN or Guild sensors, granting a +2 to Navigation checks in the belt. |
| ”The Stash” | A lead-lined, sensor-shielded compartment hidden inside the primary coolant tank. Installed by the pilot, Anousha, to hide “pocketed” gems from the First Mate and Guild assays. |
Crew
| Role | Name | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Captain | Virmog “Suresight” | Is a Cirani. He navigates the belt by “feeling the drift” rather than trusting sensors. Extremely protective of his crew, but distrusts the UPoS. |
| First Mate | Marcia Luyten | Miner’s Guild Supervisor. She is the “company spy” on board. Stiff, bureaucratic, and constantly threatening to report the Engineer’s lack of safety protocols. |
| Engineer | Paul Moeyes | Chews on rocks. Literally. He claims he can taste the gem quality. He keeps the fusion drive running with duct tape and prayers to unknown entities. |
| Medical Officer | Chris Keulemans | Is a miner and only took the position because it needed to be filled. His “medical kit” is mostly painkillers, duct tape, and a bottle of high-proof solvent. |
| Pilot | Anousha Nzume | Pockets a raw gem every now and then. An ace flyer who takes risky lines through the asteroid fields. She owes money to Frederike Bannink at The Pulsing Phaser. |
Mining Away Team (The M-J’s):
- Mark Mazower: Demolitions expert. Loud.
- Joris Luyendijk: Geology specialist. Quiet, constantly taking notes.
- James Ball: Heavy lifter / Loader exosuit operator.
- Jonah Falke: Scout. Usually the first one into a hollow asteroid.
Cargo Hold
| Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Raw Silicate Ore | 18 Tons | Low value, bulk filler to satisfy Guild minimum quotas. |
| Lucido Geodes | 4 Crates | Uncracked. High potential value. Closely watched by Marcia Luyten. |
| Mining Explosives | 2 Cases | Unstable. Mark Mazower insists on storing them next to the engine warmth. |
| ”Snacks” | 1 Crate | A box of granite and slate shards labeled “DO NOT EAT” (Belongs to Paul). |
| Contraband | 1 Small Pouch | Hidden in “The Stash.” Three uncut “Fire-Eye” rubies. |
Operational History
- 2435: Commissioned by Al-Rabata Shipyards. Originally named The Reliable Asset.
- 2441: Purchased by the Lucido Miners Guild as part of a bulk fleet acquisition to exploit the post-disaster asteroid fields. Renamed IS Karmagee.
- 2448 - The Big Drift: During a massive solar flare from A-5102, the ship’s sensors were fried deep in the belt. Captain Virmog navigated the ship back to Beaven Point using only visual landmarks and his “feeling,” saving the crew and a hold full of ore. This event cemented his authority, even over Guild officials.
- Recent: The ship was cited 14 times by UPN inspections for “Safety Violations,” all of which were administratively buried by Zara Jackson, likely because the Karmagee brings in the highest yield of rare gems in the sector.

Additional Details
The “Lucky” Rivet: There is a golden rivet on the main airlock door. The crew believes rubbing it before an EVA brings good luck. Marcia Luyten has tried to paint over it three times; the paint always “accidentally” dissolves.
