Profile
The Cirani are a sentient Alien race. Due to a natural disaster, their homeworld was destroyed by a Supernova. Since then they have been a homeless race, crossing the stars in spaceships banded together into nomad fleets. They are wholey accepted in the galaxy by all factions and are free to roam both Unified and Terran space. While also tolerated in Lanternyard space, they are not exempt from the Jetgate tolls they impose, unlike in other sectors for Nomad fleets.

Biology
Cirani only live for an average of 40 years. They have a signature blue fur that grows throughout their life. Their eyes are accustomed to the darkness on-board their ships.

Philosophy
“A memory is a home that cannot be destroyed”
The core of Cirani philosophy is Vuwulmovan, which translates roughly to “memory-hearth” or “soul-anchor.” Having lost their physical home, the Cirani believe that a people’s true home resides in their collective memory and shared identity. This drives their obsession with collecting stories, data, and historical artifacts. They are taught from birth that to forget is to die a second, final death.
Relationships
| Faction | Relationship Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Unified Planets of Sol | Protected Refugees | The UPoS views the Cirani with deep sympathy and officially classifies them as a protected people. Cirani fleets are granted unrestricted access, receive humanitarian aid, and their cultural preservation efforts are often funded by UPoS grants. The UPoS sees protecting them as a moral imperative. |
| Confederacy of Terran Gates | Respected Coexistence | The Confederacy respects the Cirani’s self-sufficiency and resilience, qualities they value in their own culture. While no special aid is offered, the CoTG honors their neutrality and grants them free passage. Terran Navy vessels will often provide escorts for Cirani fleets in contested systems as a sign of goodwill and trade information for their navigational data. |
| Lanternyard Incorporated | Customers | Lanternyard sees the Cirani as a unique, mobile resource. They value their knowledge of deep space routes and occasionally hire Cirani consultants. However, they view the Cirani’s refusal to pay Jetgate tolls as an inefficiency. This relationship is purely business; Lanternyard offers no charity and expects payment for all services rendered, seeing the Nomads as just another potential customer. |
