Profile
UPN NORTHCOM serves as the Central Command for the North-Western quadrant of the Milky Way, maintaining absolute jurisdiction over the Albion and Valdurion Sectors. Operating out of the heavily fortified Cephei Naval Yard, NORTHCOM is the Unified Planets’ primary shield against northern frontier threats and piracy. Currently, the command is stretched thin, tasked with maintaining order in the volatile Albion sector while simultaneously preparing a massive, resource-heavy liberation strategy for the neighboring Helion Sector.
Story
Established shortly after the First Gate War to lock down the newly acquired northern systems, NORTHCOM was originally a prestigious, well-supplied post. However, as the Albion sector swelled with refugees and corporate interests during the Second Gate War, NORTHCOM was forced to pivot from a purely defensive vanguard into an interstellar police force. Today, the admiralty constantly battles the UPoS bureaucratic behemoth for funding, trying to justify the massive fleet presence required to keep the Charenet Driveyards safe from local saboteurs while prepping for outward expansion.

Background
The Cephei Naval Yard was originally constructed in secret by the Charenet Driveyards as a private fortress before being requisitioned by the UPoS during a period of martial law. The architecture of the station still bears the luxurious, corporate aesthetics of its original builders, creating a stark contrast with the grim, utilitarian Navy personnel who now occupy it.
