    Continuity Audit

Sweep of the vault as of the 2453 campaign present. Grouped by severity. Each entry: what conflicts, where, and the recommended fix.

    A. Hard timeline contradictions

A1. The Helion Insurrection is dated 2480 in one place

    SourceClaim
One Earth Government Insurrection13 May 2428
One Earth Government”Helion Sector Insurrection of 2480”

2480 is 27 years after the campaign present. It also breaks Lucido System (“two years after the takeover” → the 2430 cataclysm) and SCS Contender (transferred to Albion in 2430 “following the Lucido Cataclysm”).

Fix: 2428 is canon. Correct the OEG faction note.

A2. The MSC Pro Fortuna has a history in the future

MSC Pro Fortuna → Operational History lists 2498 (pirate interdiction) and 2501 (contracted for the Lucido run). Both post-date 2453.

Fix: read as 2448 and 2451. 2451 also gives a tidy “two years on the Lucido run” for a ship currently sitting at Beaven Point.

A3. The Second Gate War has three start dates

    SourceStart
Unified Planets of Sol (header), Terran Empire, Ubiquitous Class Fleet Tender2400
Unified Planets of Sol (Navy section)“roughly 60 years later in 2389”
Terran Civil War”Hostilities began with the Second Gate War in 2416”

    Fix: canonise 2400–2420.

    • In the UPoS Navy paragraph, change to “roughly seventy years later in 2400” (2329 → 2400 is 71 years).
    • In Terran Civil War, reword to: “Hostilities inside the Empire began in 2416, during the closing years of the Second Gate War.” This keeps 2416 meaningful as the start of the civil war rather than the Gate War, and the existing “by 2420 it expanded into full-scale civil war” still reads correctly.

Resulting nesting: Second Gate War 2400–2420, with the Terran Civil War 2416–2420 inside its final phase. This is also why the Empire could no longer wage war — which your UPoS note already implies.

A4. The Free People of Badigo raid before they exist

Free People of Badigo dates the Severing to “ten years ago” (≈2443). But FX-20 Olympus describes the A-10F0 Incident of 2441 against “a raider fleet backed by the Free People of Badigo.”

Fix: move the Severing to 2440. Thirteen years is also a better fit for a movement that now fields shipyards, training camps, a defected admiral and a guerrilla armada. Change the prose to “Thirteen years ago.”

A5. The SPL Arca Planetae recovered from an event that just happened

SPL Arca Planetae: commandeered 18 May 2453, then “a massive months-long recovery” and “has since been repaired at Charenet and returned to service.”

18 May 2453 is the Albion Spaceport Arc session — nine days ago in campaign time. The recovery cannot have finished.

Fix: keep the date, rewrite to present tense — the ship is still marooned in a decaying orbit around Gargantua, and S. Pace Logistics has a standing salvage contract and a grudge. Converts a continuity bug into a live hook aimed at the party.

    B. Contradictions of fact and naming

B1. Cygnus is both the Imperial capital and the heart of the rebellion

    SourceClaim
    Terran EmpireHQ: Cygnus
Confederacy of Terran Gates”the increasingly authoritarian regime that grew in influence on Cygnus” (i.e. what they rebelled against)
Terran Civil War”Cygnus System: the symbolic heart of the rebellion, where the Confederacy established its headquarters”

Fix — the one that costs nothing: Cygnus was the Imperial capital, taken by Confederate forces in 2420. The CTG keeps it as its ceremonial seat and war-trophy, while actual governance sits at Zameen, Alpha Serpentis with the Serpentis Council. Your CTG note already lists both as headquarters — this makes that dual listing deliberate rather than accidental, and gives the Confederacy a nicely uncomfortable relationship with its own capital.

B2. “Voron” is an orphaned name

Free People of Badigo names the leader as Archmage Colum McCann, but twice credits psionic training to “Voron” (Acolytes of the Spire “trained by Voron”; Psionic Navigators origin “Voron’s Training”). Voron appears nowhere else in the vault — almost certainly a pre-rename leftover.

Fix (better than search-and-replace): make Voron the first Acolyte — the one McCann sent into the Spire second, who came out able to teach what McCann could only do. Gives the FPoB a second power centre and a potential schism. Simpler alternative: replace both instances with McCann.

    B3. Shat’azul vs Sha’tazul

Both spellings are in active use — Shat'azul in the filenames, Cirani Nomads, Danube, OEG Insurrection, IS Marion Black; Sha'tazul in Terran Civil War, Imperial Remnant, Lanternyard, Amira Vance, LYS Antares Courrere, Arakiel EWACS, A-230 Runabout.

Fix: standardise on Shat’azul — it matches the filenames, so links resolve. 8 edits.

B4. The Glintring vs the Glitterfields

Lucido System calls the belt the “Glintring” in Points of Interest and the “Glitterfields” in System Hazards. Every other note (SCS Contender, OEG King Gesar, IS Beleriand, The Pulsing Phaser) says Glintring.

    Fix: Glintring. One edit.

B5. The UPN guards the Serengeti Line against a dead empire

Unified Planets Navy: “the Serengeti Line — the tense border guarding against the Terran Empire.”

The Empire fell in 2420; the line faces the Confederacy of Terran Gates.

    Fix: swap the link.

B6. MedTac’s founding date contradicts its own body text

MedTac Insurance & Protection: Founding Date field says 2317; body says “Founded in 2217… Lanternyard acquired the company in 2229.”

Fix: 2217 (the 2229 acquisition forces it). Correct the table field.

B7. The LF-2500 has two manufacturers and an impossible one

    • AFAT Cargo Shuttle (Parromax, 2247) is described as “the smaller and cheaper predecessor to the LF-2500”
    • LF-2500 Freighter history: “entered production lines in 2370. Originally envisioned… by Lanternyard Nullcrafts”
    • Lanternyard Nullcrafts founding date: 2385 — fifteen years after it supposedly designed the ship

Related: AC-2000 Freightliner says it was “introduced in 2245” and that “Lanternyard Nullcrafts secured a dominant position” — 140 years before Nullcrafts existed.

Fix — one move solves all three: Parromax designed the LF-2500 in 2370; Lanternyard absorbed Parromax in 2385 and rebranded the yard as Lanternyard Nullcrafts. That explains the folder structure, preserves the AFAT lineage, and explains why LYS-prefixed hulls fly a Parromax design. Then attribute the 2245 AC-2000 to Lanternyard Incorporated itself, with Nullcrafts as the later shipbuilding arm that inherited the line.

B8. The CTG’s founding date is ambiguous in its own profile

Confederacy of Terran Gates → Profile: “a coalition of the Jetgate systems that seceded from the UPoS during the First Gate War in 2318.” Background: “The Confederacy was established after the Terran Civil War in 2420.”

Not strictly contradictory — the systems seceded in 2318 as the Empire; the Confederacy formed in 2420 — but the profile reads as if the CTG dates to 2318.

Fix: “The Confederacy is descended from the eight Jetgate systems that seceded in 2318 to form the Terran Empire. The Confederacy itself was founded in 2420, out of that Empire’s collapse.”

B9. Ambassador Eliyana Draven has a fifty-three-year career

Unified Planets of Sol — the Second Gate War ignited (2400) with an assassination attempt on Draven. Kryx Nebula Fields lists her as a current Important Figure in 2453.

    Fix (pick one):

    1. Make the current one a descendant — Ambassador Kalia Draven, granddaughter, carrying a famous and politically loaded name into the same nebula. Cheap and useful.
    2. Keep her: she survived, is now ~85, and has spent five decades on the same posting out of sheer stubbornness. Also good, and a memorable NPC.

The Kryx entry currently reads as a straightforward roster, so it needs deciding either way.

    C. Vault hygiene

    C1. Duplicated ship notes

IS Karmagee exists twice — Ships/Independent/ and Locations/…/Lucido/ — with different callsigns (IS12000312 vs IS17000084502) and different shipyard names (“New Titania Shipyards” vs “Shipyard”). The Ships/Independent copy has the fuller 2435/2441/2448 history. IS Beleriand is likewise under Locations/…/Lucido/ rather than Ships/.

Fix: keep the Ships/ copies as canon, delete the Lucido duplicates, link to them from the Lucido system table.

    C2. Duplicated Shat’azul notes

Two files — Galactic Factions/Governments/Shat'azul.md and People/Races/Shat'azul.md — both empty. The name collision is why Lanternyard, Danube and _Story Concepts all use ugly full-path links ([[Content/Galactic Factions/Governments/Shat'azul]]).

Fix: rename to Shat'azul Dominion (polity) and Shat'azul (Species), or merge into one. Then the short links work.

    C3. Folder typo

Ships/Unified Planest Navy/ — “Planest”. Contains the 102nd Nibbellean Patrol and Lucido Quarantine Group notes.

C4. Missing notes for core concepts

    Heavily linked, no file exists:

[[Currency]] · [[Serengeti Line]] · [[First Gate War]] · [[Second Gate War]] · [[Earth]] · [[Badigo]] · [[Helion System]]

The Serengeti Line and the two Gate Wars are load-bearing setting concepts referenced across a dozen notes. [[Currency]] is linked from nearly every faction overview table.

Fix: stubs at minimum. A Currency note is high value — you have Cillings, Cinconars, Imperial Marks, Lanterns, and Red Credits in play with no exchange relationship defined.

    C5. Filing oddities

    • The Precoursers.md — spelling (“Precursors”), and filed under Governments, which they aren’t.
    • Lanternyard Incorporated sits in Governments/ while its subsidiaries sit in Companies/. This looks deliberate given their sovereign status — noting it only so it stays deliberate.

    D. Soft tensions — your call, not errors

D1. Is the Badigo Uprising over?

Albion Sector → Notable Conflicts: “Badigo Uprising — Status: Ended.” Free People of Badigo → Albion Sector is an “Active Warzine” [sic] and the primary hunting ground for Slocum’s Fleet.

Suggested reading that keeps both: the Uprising (the UPoS’s 2440–2442 reconquest campaign) ended — in failure. The insurgency never did. The UPoS calls it concluded because admitting otherwise means admitting a sector was lost. That framing is also exactly the kind of bureaucratic face-saving your Albion note already describes.

Fix the typo “Warzine” → “Warzone” while you’re in there.

D2. Oakhaven is not on the map

Free People of Badigo cites the “Oakhaven & Other System Miners Unions” as a sympathiser network in “the neighbouring Oakhaven system.” Oakhaven isn’t in the Albion Sector’s 26-system table.

D3. “The Husk” is never introduced

Lucido System calls the dead planet “The Husk” three times (Notable Events, encounters, hooks) without ever establishing it as the nickname for Lucido Prime. A player reading the note cold won’t connect them.

Fix: add it as an alias in the Celestial Bodies table.

D4. Terran Civil War date field

Terran Civil War → Date: “Monday, 5th September – 2420”. Under the A3 fix the war runs 2416–2420, so this field marks the end. Worth making explicit, since every other Incident note uses the field as a start date.
